National Harbor to Build New Sphere Near Washington, DC

Sphere Entertainment has revealed plans to develop a new Sphere at the National Harbor, situated near Washington, DC. This innovative venue aims to provide experiences similar to its Las Vegas counterpart, albeit on a smaller scale.
Details of the National Harbor Sphere
The National Harbor Sphere will accommodate approximately 6,000 guests. This is significantly smaller than the Las Vegas Sphere, which holds 20,000 people. However, both venues will showcase the latest technological advancements.

Funding and Economic Impact
The construction of the National Harbor Sphere will rely on a mix of public and private funding. This includes approximately $200 million sourced from state, local, and private incentives. The project will require final approvals from both Prince George’s County and the State of Maryland.
According to Sphere Entertainment, the construction phase is expected to create around 2,500 jobs. Additionally, when the venue becomes operational, it will generate approximately 4,750 jobs. The anticipated annual economic benefit is projected to exceed $1 billion.
Future Plans
Alongside the Las Vegas location and the new National Harbor Sphere, there are also plans to establish a Sphere venue in Abu Dhabi. This expansion reflects a growing interest in immersive entertainment experiences worldwide.
