Green Day to Launch 60th Super Bowl with MVP Anniversary Celebration

The NFL is gearing up to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Super Bowl with an exciting opening act. Green Day, the iconic American rock band, will perform at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on February 8. The ceremony marks a significant celebration of six decades of Super Bowl history.

As part of this notable opening ceremony, Green Day will usher generations of Super Bowl MVPs onto the field. The band, consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool, originated from the East Bay in the San Francisco Bay Area. They are anticipated to deliver some of their best-known anthems during this tribute.
Band’s Excitement and Ceremony Details
Lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong expressed enthusiasm for performing in their hometown, stating, “We are super hyped to open Super Bowl 60 right in our backyard! We are honored to welcome the MVPs who’ve shaped the game and open the night for fans all over the world. Let’s have fun! Let’s get loud!”
The opening ceremony is set to air live at 3 p.m. Pacific on various platforms, including NBC, Telemundo, Peacock, and Universo. Tim Tubito, the NFL’s senior director of event and game presentation, highlighted the significance of celebrating the legends of the NFL through this unique collaboration with Green Day.
