Southeastern Alabama Winter Weather Advisory Details
The forecast indicates a shift in weather conditions starting late Saturday afternoon. Rain is expected to spread across the southern regions of Alabama, primarily south of the Livingston, Montgomery, and Auburn line.
Snowfall Projections
As temperatures drop late at night, there is a possibility of rain mixing with snow between 1 AM and 4 AM. This transition will primarily occur east of Interstate 65 and south of Interstate 85, with precipitation expected to taper off by noon on Sunday.
- Snow Accumulation: Higher probabilities for snowfall have been noted, especially in northern parts.
- Road Safety: Current temperatures in the mid-50s have helped keep roadways warm, minimizing impacts.
- Slick Conditions: There may be brief icy spots on bridges in the early morning hours due to temperatures dropping to 30-35 degrees.
Temperature Forecast
On Sunday morning, temperatures will likely fall to the low to mid-30s. Post-9 AM, temperatures are anticipated to rise above freezing, reaching the low to mid-50s by the afternoon.
While the potential for significant snowfall remains low, should conditions change, a few slushy areas could briefly develop on roadways. However, current assessments suggest minimal disruption to travel.
