Steve Holland
Steve Holland joins Carrick as his second-in-command. Known for his successful tenure alongside Gareth Southgate with the England national team, he has also held various roles at Chelsea under notable managers like Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte. Holland played a significant part in Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League victory in 2012 and their Premier League title in 2016. His most recent position was with Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan, where he was let go after four months.
Jonathan Woodgate
Jonathan Woodgate, previously an assistant under Carrick at Middlesbrough, resumes the role at Manchester United. His managerial experience includes a year-long stint as Middlesbrough’s head coach. Woodgate enjoyed a distinguished playing career, featuring for clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid. He returns to assist Carrick after parting ways in June 2025.
Jonny Evans
Jonny Evans is well-known to United supporters, having made 241 appearances for the club. He began his career at Manchester United’s youth academy, debuting in 2006. Evans has collected three Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League trophy during his time at the club. He returned to Manchester United in 2023, previously serving as head of loans and pathways.
Travis Binnion
Travis Binnion has been a part of Manchester United’s coaching setup since 2019. As the lead coach of the under-21s, he is credited with leading the team to victory in the FA Youth Cup in 2022. Binnion’s experience with the under-18s adds depth to Carrick’s coaching team.
Craig Mawson
Craig Mawson takes over as goalkeeping coach following Jorge Vital’s departure. With a background as an assistant goalkeeping coach since 2019, Mawson brings valuable experience from his previous role at Burnley, where he developed academy keepers for a decade.
