This partnership replaces a prior arrangement with WHO 13, which had been in effect since 2008 when KDSM ceased its news department operations. With the end of the WHO-produced 9 p.m. broadcast on FOX 17, WHO 13 has adapted by launching a new 9 p.m. newscast. Effective January 1, viewers can access the new program via the WHO 13 Plus app, on WHO13.com, and through Iowa’s Weather Channel, WHO 13. This updated newscast presents familiar anchors, retaining the essence of their previous offerings while introducing new elements to engage the audience.
