Dallas Mavericks Sign Jeremiah Robinson-Earl to 10-Day Hardship Deal

The Dallas Mavericks have officially signed forward Jeremiah Robinson-Earl to a 10-day hardship contract. This decision comes in response to the ongoing injury crisis that has left several key players unavailable. The contract allows the Mavericks to expand their active roster temporarily, addressing immediate team needs.
Robinson-Earl’s Performance with Texas Legends
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl has demonstrated his capabilities during his time with the Texas Legends, the Mavericks’ G League affiliate. In 11 games this season, all of which he started, he showcased impressive statistics:
- Points per game: 19.3
- Rebounds per game: 11.8
- Assists per game: 2.4
- Shooting Percentage: 52.2%
- Three-pointers made per game: 1.5
- Offensive rebounds per game: 3.5
- Defensive rebounds per game: 8.3
His contributions have made a significant impact on the court, particularly in terms of rebounding and scoring efficiency.
Previous NBA Experience
Before joining the Mavericks, Robinson-Earl had a brief stint with the Indiana Pacers, where he played 17 games over two consecutive 10-day contracts. During that time, he averaged 4.6 points and 5.2 rebounds in around 16 minutes per game. The Pacers decided to move in a different direction, paving the way for his opportunity in Dallas.
Background and Early Career
Robinson-Earl was selected 32nd overall by the New York Knicks in the 2021 NBA Draft, only to be traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder on draft night. He played two seasons with the Thunder, appearing in 92 games and averaging 7.2 points and 4.9 rebounds. His ability to space the floor and play versatile defense was noted before he was waived in the summer of 2024.
Importance to the Mavericks
The Mavericks are currently managing a challenging injury situation that includes star players like Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis, among others. They have been granted Disabled Player Exceptions for some injured players, but the hardship contract is crucial for adding immediate depth to their lineup.
Robinson-Earl is expected to make his debut with the Mavericks when they face the Utah Jazz this Thursday, offering much-needed support amid the team’s chaotic January schedule.
