Colorado’s Jordan Seaton to Enter NCAA Transfer Portal

Colorado’s sophomore offensive tackle, Jordan Seaton, is preparing to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. This decision follows two successful seasons with the Buffaloes.
Jordan Seaton’s Athletic Background
Seaton was a highly-regarded Five-Star Plus+ recruit in the 2024 class, marking him as the Buffaloes’ top signee in over a decade. In his freshman year, he started all 13 games under head coach Deion Sanders and received Freshman All-American honors from On3. His impressive performance included being the highest-graded true freshman offensive tackle in pass protection, according to Pro Football Focus (PFF).
Performance Highlights
- Did not allow a sack in 11 of his first 13 games.
- Earned multiple preseason All-American and All-Big 12 nominations before his sophomore season.
- Achieved a remarkable 91.4 grade in pass protection during the first month of the season, the highest in the nation at that time.
Although he faced challenges in the run game, Seaton’s skills have made him a highly sought-after prospect in the transfer market. He ended his season with second-team All-Big 12 honors and was recognized as a midseason All-American by various outlets.
Recruiting and Early Career
The 6-foot-5, 295-pound tackle was rated as the No. 18 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle, based on the On3 Industry Ranking. He was also ranked the top offensive tackle in the nation and fifth overall in Florida. A native of Washington D.C., Seaton completed his high school career at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
Colorado’s Roster Changes
Seaton’s announcement comes amid significant roster changes for the Buffaloes following a challenging 2025 season. He joins more than two dozen players who have expressed their intent to enter the transfer portal after the season, including notable figures such as defensive backs D.J. McKinney and Tawfiq Byard, as well as leading wide receiver Dre’lon Miller.
To compensate for these departures, Colorado has made substantial additions to their roster. Key signings include Vanderbilt’s starting safety Randon Fontenette and former Tennessee defensive back Boo Carter. On the offensive side, the team is building around rising sophomore quarterback Julian Lewis, recently acquiring Biletnikoff finalist Danny Scudero from San Jose State.
