He stated, “He split his knee and got an infection where the field wasn’t adequately covered with grass.” Smith is currently hospitalized and will remain there for a few more days.
Dobson has raised alarm over other injuries linked to the pitch. He highlighted that multiple players have sustained grazes due to the field’s inadequate surface. “It’s a really desperate situation,” he emphasized, calling on Stormers Rugby to address the matter seriously.
