Fortnite Servers Crash Amid ‘South Park’ Update Arrival
Fortnite is set to welcome a nostalgic twist with its upcoming “South Park: Born in Chaos” update. Players will soon have the opportunity to play as iconic characters such as Stan, Kyle, Kenny, Cartman, and Butters. This new content aims to bring a fresh gaming experience to fans of both Fortnite and South Park.
Update Details
The “South Park: Born in Chaos” update will be available starting early Friday morning, January 9, and will last until February 5. This captivating update allows players to engage with a new game mode called Quints, designed for teams of five.
New Features and Rewards
- The Stick of Truth: Control the storm mechanics.
- Cheesy Poofs: Heal your character during gameplay.
- Kenny’s Respawn Token: Automatically reboot fallen teammates.
Players can unlock a total of 13 South Park-themed items through the “Born in Chaos Pass.” These items can be obtained by completing unique South Park quests, which do not require V-Bucks for participation.
Scheduled Maintenance
To implement these updates, Fortnite servers will undergo scheduled maintenance for the v39.20 update. This maintenance will take place from 3 a.m. CT to 5 a.m. CT on Friday. Additionally, matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes prior to the downtime.
Chapter 7: Season 1 Overview
Currently, Fortnite is in Chapter 7: Season 1, also known as “Pacific Break.” This season commenced on November 29 and will conclude on March 4. Key features of this season include:
