Celebrity presenter Fred Sirieix is thrilled to return to British television this January with his exciting new series, “Tour de Fred: Part Deux.” Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Ireland, this series aims to showcase the country’s stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage.

Starting on January 10th and 11th, the second season of “Tour de Fred” will premiere on ITV1 and ITVX. This five-part series is co-produced by Tourism Ireland in collaboration with Irish Ferries and Waddell Media.

In the opening double episode, Fred arrives at Dublin Port by ferry. He will kick off his adventure in the South-East of Ireland, covering highlights in Wexford and Waterford.

  • Episode One: Fred delves into Wexford’s history, visiting:
    • JFK Arboretum
    • Dunbrody Famine Ship
    • Hook Lighthouse
    • Johnstown Castle
    • Irish National Heritage Park
  • Episode Two: Fred cycles along the Waterford Greenway to Mount Congreve Gardens, engaging in foraging with chef Jean-Baptiste Dubois. He then visits:
    • Waterford Crystal
    • Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens
    • Fenor Bog
    • Mahon Falls
    • Crough Wood

Upcoming Episodes

Following the opening episodes, the series continues each Sunday. Fred plans to explore more of Waterford, eventually heading to County Cork. A special highlight will include a memorable moment with his daughter Andrea in the concluding episode.

Judith Cassidy, Tourism Ireland’s Acting Head of Great Britain, expressed excitement about Fred’s return. She emphasized that “Tour de Fred” will inspire British viewers to experience the beauty of Wexford, Waterford, and Cork first-hand.

The tourism industry in Ireland saw a significant boost in 2024, with overseas visitor spending increasing by 9% from the previous year, totaling €6.9 billion.

Fred Sirieix shared his enthusiasm for cycling in Ireland, noting the country’s beautiful landscapes, delicious food, and welcoming locals. “Ireland is a fantastic country for cyclists,” he said.
