Las Vegas Hosts Grandest New Year’s Eve Celebration Tonight

Las Vegas is gearing up for its highly anticipated New Year’s Eve celebration, known as America’s Party. This year, the festivities will begin on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, drawing an expected crowd of up to 340,000 people. Attendees will gather on the Strip and downtown to countdown to midnight.

Fireworks Extravaganza: Rockin’ into 2026

The highlight of the evening will be a spectacular fireworks show titled “Rockin’ into 2026 – Vegas Style.” This year, the display will feature synchronized pyrotechnics launched from ten renowned resort properties, including:

  • MGM Grand Hotel and Casino
  • ARIA Resort and Casino
  • Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino
  • Caesars Palace
  • Palms Casino Resort
  • Treasure Island Las Vegas (TI)
  • The Venetian Resort Las Vegas
  • Fontainebleau Las Vegas
  • Resorts World Las Vegas
  • The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower

For the first time, the eight-minute performance will incorporate a synchronized drone show. The accompanying soundtrack will feature classic rock hits, broadcasted on KOMP 92.3 and 97.1 The Point.

Special Celebrations for America 250

In addition to the fireworks, Las Vegas will celebrate America 250, marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. Following the fireworks display, resort marquees will display a unified message, “Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday All Year Long.”

Safety and Traffic Regulations

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department will oversee security. To facilitate safety, road closures will begin at 5:30 p.m. for Interstate 15 off-ramps, with Las Vegas Boulevard completely closed to vehicles by 8 p.m. For safety, the following items are prohibited on the Strip and Downtown:

  • Glass and metal containers
  • Coolers
  • Strollers
  • Bags larger than 12x12x6

A curfew will apply to minors under 18, who must be accompanied by a parent.

Transportation Options

Public transportation will be available free of charge on bus rides through RTC of Southern Nevada, operating from 6 p.m. Wednesday until 9 a.m. Thursday. Additionally, the Las Vegas Monorail will run nonstop from 7 a.m. Wednesday to 2 a.m. Friday, January 2. Tickets can be purchased via the Monorail’s official website.

Weather Considerations

Attendees should prepare for possible light to moderate rain on New Year’s Eve. For those opting to stay indoors, News 3 will offer live coverage titled “Toast to the New Year!” beginning at 10 p.m.
