Body of Missing Spanish Girl Recovered After Indonesia Shipwreck

Rescue teams in Indonesia have confirmed the recovery of the body of a missing girl from Spain following a tragic shipwreck. This incident occurred near the island of Padar on Friday, where four members of the same family went missing.
Details of the Shipwreck Incident
The Spanish family included Fernando Martín, a football coach for Valencia CF women’s team, and his wife Andrea Ortuño. They were on board the KM Putri Sakinah when the vessel sank around 8:30 PM local time (1:30 PM GMT).
In total, the family consisted of one adult and three children, aged between 9 and 12 years. Unfortunately, the search efforts led to the recovery of one of the children’s bodies.
Search and Recovery Operations
According to the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), local residents spotted the floating body about 0.5 nautical miles from the suspected sinking area. The body was retrieved shortly after by a rescue team.

Identification and Family Statement

They expressed gratitude for the support from both Spain and Indonesia, and emphasized their determination to find the remaining missing family members.
Next Steps in the Investigation
The recovered body has been transported to the regional hospital in Komodo for identification. Ongoing search operations aim to locate any additional missing participants of the tragic event.
Meanwhile, Andrea Ortuño and another daughter were rescued from the wreckage, underscoring the desperate circumstances of this maritime disaster.
