Remembering Gary “Squeak” E. Egan: A Heartfelt Obituary

Gary “Squeak” E. Egan, a cherished member of the Clintonville community, passed away at the age of 77 on December 27, 2025. He departed this life at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah, leaving behind a legacy of friendship and warmth.
Early Life and Education
Gary was born on February 25, 1948, in Clintonville. He was the beloved son of Edward and Nina (Donaldson) Egan. His upbringing in Clintonville shaped the vibrant personality he would become. Gary graduated from Clintonville High School in 1966, marking the beginning of a life dedicated to service and community.
Military Service and Career
After completing high school, Gary served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he returned to Clintonville, where he began working at Seagrave FWD. He later transitioned to a position at Sturms in Manawa, contributing to the local economy and workforce.
Community Involvement
Known affectionately as Squeak, he was a lifelong resident of Clintonville and a well-known social figure. He spent countless hours in local taverns, engaging in spirited conversations and enjoying games of pool. His love for the game extended to his role as a past president of the local pool league, where his leadership helped foster community spirit.

- A devoted fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, proudly wearing their team coat around town.
Family and Memories
Squeak is survived by his children, Carrie Wait and Ed (Jamie) Egan, along with six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Other family members include his sister-in-law, Cindy Egan, brother-in-law, Tom Perkins, and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Timothy Egan, a sister, Peggy Perkins, and a nephew, Patrick Egan.
A Lasting Legacy
Though no formal services will be held as per Squeak’s wishes, his family extends gratitude to the staff at Greentree Health & Rehabilitation in Clintonville for their compassionate care during his stay. His vibrant spirit and iconic smile will be deeply missed, as he was truly the life of the party and everyone’s friend.
