Dolphins Reshape Roster with Key Moves

The Miami Dolphins have made significant roster changes ahead of their upcoming game. Notably, offensive lineman Andrew Meyer has been activated from the injured reserve list. Additionally, wide receiver Theo Wease Jr. has been promoted from the practice squad to the active roster.

Dolphins Place Players on Injured Reserve

The Dolphins also faced some setbacks, placing several players on the injured reserve list:

  • Wide Receiver: Dee Eskridge
  • Cornerback: Isaiah Johnson
  • Defensive Tackle: Benito Jones

This move comes as the team aims to keep its playoff hopes alive despite these injuries.

Player Stats and Career Highlights

Dee Eskridge has had a varied career, appearing in 43 games across five seasons with Seattle and Miami. In that time, he achieved:

  • 24 receptions for 228 yards and one touchdown.
  • Averaged 9.5 yards per reception.
  • 1,300 yards on 50 kickoff returns.

Eskridge was a second-round pick (56th overall) in the 2021 NFL Draft. He played at Western Michigan, where he had an impressive 122 receptions for 2,260 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Isaiah Johnson has played four games with the Dolphins, mostly contributing on special teams. An undrafted free agent in 2024, he had a diverse college career spanning from Dartmouth to Syracuse, accumulating 115 tackles and two interceptions.

Benito Jones, another impactful player, has participated in 71 games over five seasons, with a total of 83 tackles and 3.5 sacks. An undrafted free agent from 2020, he previously played college football at Mississippi.

New Additions to the Roster

The Miami Dolphins also elevated a couple of players to the active roster:

  • Linebacker: Derrick McLendon
  • Offensive Lineman: Josh Priebe

Derrick McLendon joined the Dolphins after a stint with Carolina and showcased potential with 14 tackles and 1.5 sacks in college.

Josh Priebe, also an undrafted free agent, stood out at Michigan before his arrival in Miami. He was a vital player on the offensive line during his collegiate career.

Theo Wease Jr.’s Debut

Theo Wease Jr. has recently made his NFL debut, recording two receptions for 32 yards in a key matchup against Cincinnati. The undrafted wide receiver attended Missouri and previously played at Oklahoma, where he totaled 64 receptions for 1,044 yards.

These roster moves highlight the Dolphins’ strategy to bolster their team as they navigate a challenging season. The management’s focus on adding depth while dealing with injuries signals their commitment to maintaining competitiveness.
