M4 Drivers Witness Man Walking After Range Rover Crash

A troubling incident unfolded on the M4 motorway last night, involving a Range Rover Evoque and leading to armed police intervention. Witnesses reported the vehicle was driving dangerously before a dramatic crash occurred.

At approximately 9 PM, Wiltshire Police received multiple calls regarding erratic driving behavior from the Range Rover Evoque. This vehicle subsequently collided with another car between Membury Services and Junction 15, resulting in one vehicle flipping onto its roof.

Police Response and Man Sightings

After the crash, the driver reportedly exited the vehicle and fled the scene. Witnesses soon called in to report seeing a man walking along the hard shoulder of the M4, heading toward Junction 15.

Arrest and Charges

The individual was apprehended and is a 42-year-old man. He faces several serious charges, including:

  • Being a pedestrian on a carriageway

For precautionary reasons, he was transported to a hospital but has since been released on police bail.

The crash caused significant disruptions, temporarily closing two lanes of the motorway. Fortunately, all lanes were fully reopened by around 11 PM.
