Fatal Christmas Day Crash Claims Life of 36-Year-Old in Erie Township

On Christmas Day, a tragic car accident in Erie Township resulted in the death of a 36-year-old man. The incident occurred around 1:40 p.m. on S. Telegraph Road, near E. Temperance Road.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported that the driver lost control of his gray 2003 Toyota Camry, which veered off the roadway and entered a ditch. Subsequently, the vehicle struck a tree, causing the driver to be ejected from the car. The Camry overturned and came to rest on its passenger side.
Injuries and Investigation
At the time of the crash, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. Despite the deployment of multiple airbags, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Sheriff’s Traffic Services Division is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
