John-Paul Miller Indicted for Cyberstalking Wife Before Myrtle Beach Tragedy

A pastor from South Carolina, John-Paul Miller, has been indicted on federal charges of cyberstalking his estranged wife, Mica Miller. The charges arise from a series of harassing communications and actions that occurred prior to her tragic death by suicide in April 2024.

Details of the Indictment

John-Paul Miller, 46, faces several allegations from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of South Carolina. These include:

  • Cyberstalking his wife, Mica Miller, who was 30 years old at the time of her death.
  • Making false statements to federal investigators.
  • Posting a nude photo of Mica online without her consent.
  • Contacting her more than 50 times in a single day, after separating.

Background of the Case

Mica Miller was found dead at Lumber River State Park on April 27, 2024. Her death was ruled a suicide, but it has brought to light allegations of prior abuse by John-Paul. At the time of her death, the couple was in the process of divorce.

Police documents revealed that Mica expressed fear for her safety in the weeks leading up to her death. The indictment states that between November 2022 and her death, John-Paul sent numerous unwanted communications to her. Furthermore, he is accused of sabotaging her vehicle and interfering with her finances.

Potential Consequences

If found guilty, John-Paul Miller could face significant legal penalties, including:

  • Up to five years in prison for cyberstalking.
  • Up to two years for making false statements.
  • Fines reaching up to $250,000.

His arraignment is scheduled for January 12, 2026, in Florence, South Carolina.
