Hyatt Launches New 223-Room Puerto Rico Resort with Beach Club and Splash Pad

Hyatt has launched a new resort in Puerto Rico, introducing the Hyatt Centric San Juan Isla Verde. This is the first Hyatt Centric property on the island, following a $30 million renovation of the former Verdanza Hotel. The hotel enhances Hyatt’s presence in the Caribbean and aims to attract both leisure and business travelers.

Location and Accessibility

Situated in the vibrant Isla Verde neighborhood, the hotel is conveniently located near local beaches, restaurants, nightlife, and shopping. Key attractions such as Old San Juan and El Yunque National Rain Forest are nearby. Additionally, the property is just minutes from the main international airport, making it easy for guests to travel.

Hotel Features and Amenities

The renovated hotel boasts 223 guest rooms and suites, designed to reflect Puerto Rico’s natural beauty. Guests can enjoy a resort-style pool deck with a jacuzzi, a 24-hour fitness center, and a kid-friendly splash pad. Pet-friendly accommodations are also available.

Meeting and Event Spaces

Hyatt Centric San Juan Isla Verde offers over 16,000 square feet of meeting and event space. This includes a rooftop terrace with ocean views, perfect for corporate gatherings and social events.

Vivo Beach Club Access

A standout feature of the hotel is complimentary access to Vivo Beach Club. This oceanfront private beach club includes:

  • Three pools
  • Four restaurants and bars
  • An outdoor concert stage with a capacity for 3,500 people

This club aims to enhance the overall guest experience and serve as a catalyst for tourism in the area.

Culinary Offerings

Guests can dine at two unique establishments within the hotel. Alba serves breakfast and evening meals inspired by Puerto Rican cuisine. Additionally, Espresso Lab provides a coffee-centric experience featuring local and artisanal selections. Chef Efraín Cruz oversees the culinary direction for both dining venues.

Hyatt’s Expanding Portfolio in Puerto Rico

The opening of Hyatt Centric San Juan Isla Verde brings Hyatt’s total number of hotels in Puerto Rico to six. Other properties include Hyatt Place San Juan and Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico. The hotel is operated by Highgate Hotels, emphasizing Hyatt’s ongoing commitment to growth in the Caribbean region.
