Edinburgh Council Announces Holiday Parking for Festive Season

The City of Edinburgh Council has announced the holiday parking arrangements for the upcoming festive season. This information is particularly useful for motorists as they prepare for Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Holiday Parking Schedule

This year, there will be four designated parking holidays in Edinburgh. Among these, only one occurs on Easter Monday. The remaining three holidays coincide with the festive season.

  • Christmas Day
  • Boxing Day
  • New Year’s Day

During these specific days, drivers can park free of charge in public parking bays. Additionally, parking on single yellow lines will also be allowed. This provides some flexibility for those attending various holiday events.

Important Restrictions Remain

  • Double yellow lines will continue to be enforced.
  • Disabled parking spaces are not exempt from enforcement.
  • Bus lanes and the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) will maintain their regular enforcement schedules.

Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly during this festive period. For additional details regarding the holiday parking, residents can refer to the Edinburgh Council’s official guidance on the matter.
