CU Men’s Basketball Game Confirmed for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17

CU Boulder has been alerted by Xcel Energy about planned Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) for Wednesday, December 17. The PSPS is set to begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 6 p.m. This action comes in response to a Red Flag warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) for much of the Colorado Front Range, including Boulder.
Weather Conditions and Safety Advisory
The NWS predicts severe weather, with wind gusts reaching between 60 to 80 MPH. Sustained winds are expected to be around 30 to 40 MPH by mid-afternoon on Wednesday. Due to these conditions, individuals on campus are advised to exercise caution.
Men’s Basketball Game Scheduled
The CU men’s basketball game against Portland State is still scheduled for 7 p.m. on December 17. However, fans planning to attend should allow extra time to navigate any potential travel disruptions caused by the weather.

- If the game cannot proceed as planned, it will be rescheduled for Thursday, December 18, at 10 a.m.
