Rangers Name Ex-Rosenborg Director Stig Inge Bjornebye as Consultant

Rangers FC has announced the appointment of Stig Inge Bjornebye as a football consultant and advisor for an initial term of six months. The former player, known for his stints at Blackburn Rovers, Liverpool, and the Norway national team, will begin his role immediately.
Appointment Details
Bjornebye will report directly to the club’s chairman, Andrew Cavenagh. His extensive background includes experience as a sporting director at Rosenborg, a club where he also had a successful playing career. Additionally, he has held coaching positions at IK Start and served as Norway’s assistant coach.
Ongoing Changes at Rangers
This hiring comes as Rangers seeks to fill the sporting director vacancy left by Kevin Thelwell’s departure. Former chief executive Patrick Stewart also exited the club during this transition period. Currently, Fraser Thornton is acting in an interim capacity.
