Cooler Weather Hits Northern Taiwan, Significant Temperature Swings in South

The weather in Northern Taiwan has turned noticeably cooler, marking a significant temperature change across the region. On the morning of October 17, temperatures dropped to between 12 and 17 degrees Celsius in central and northern areas, including Yilan, while southern regions and Hualien recorded temperatures between 18 and 19 degrees Celsius. Open areas, hilly regions, and the Hualien-Taitung valley experienced even lower temperatures.

Throughout the day, highs in Taoyuan, northern regions, and Yilan are expected to decrease slightly, with forecasted temperatures around 24 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in the north, northeast, and Hengchun Peninsula are expected to drop again over the weekend. As the northeast monsoon strengthens on Sunday, October 21, cooler conditions will return. Monday and Tuesday, temperatures may increase slightly again.
