Cam Cook Leads College Rushing, Semifinalist for Doak Walker Award

Cam Cook, a talented running back and graduate of Stony Point High School in Round Rock, Texas, has made headlines in college football. Currently playing for Jacksonville State, Cook demonstrated remarkable skill by leading the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision in rushing yards.

In the 2023 season, Cook averaged an impressive 131.8 rushing yards per game. His all-purpose yards average stood at 153.67 per game, showcasing his versatility on the field. These statistics highlight his performance as one of the top players in college football.
Award Recognitions
Cook’s exceptional play did not go unnoticed. He has been named a semifinalist for the prestigious Doak Walker Award, which honors the best running back in the nation. Only 10 players were selected for this honor.

On Thursday, Cook was acknowledged as a finalist for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award. This award celebrates the top Division I offensive football player with Texas ties. The winner will be announced in late December.
