TDSB Director of Education Resigns During Leadership Transition

The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) is undergoing a significant leadership transition as Director of Education Clayton La Touche has left his position effective immediately. This decision was confirmed by TDSB Supervisor Rohit Gupta in a statement, stressing the need for a “fresh start” as the board moves forward.
Leadership Change at TDSB
Rohit Gupta, who has served as supervisor for six months, indicated that the decision was made after discussions with Ontario’s Minister of Education. Gupta emphasized the necessity of establishing a new direction for the TDSB to ensure future success. “With that in mind and after much consideration, I have made this difficult decision,” he stated.
Background of Clayton La Touche
Clayton La Touche had been with the TDSB since February 2025. Gupta acknowledged La Touche’s service, expressing gratitude for his dedication to both students and staff during his tenure.
Interim Leadership
In light of La Touche’s resignation, Associate Director Stacey Zucker has been appointed as the Interim Director of Education. Zucker has previous experience in the interim role and has served in various capacities within the TDSB as well as at the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board.
