Princeton’s Brad Mossor Earns 2025 MetroNews Football Player of the Year

Princeton High School’s Brad Mossor has been named the 2025 MetroNews Football Player of the Year, a recognition earned through his outstanding performance during an undefeated season. Under the guidance of head coach Nathan Tanner, the Tigers clinched their first Class AAA state championship, concluding a remarkable campaign with a 14-0 record.

Impressive Offensive Stats

Mossor, primarily a wide receiver, demonstrated his versatility by also excelling as a running back. Over the season, he recorded:

  • 93 receptions for 1,512 yards
  • 14 touchdowns from receptions
  • 125 carries resulting in 914 rushing yards
  • 28 rushing touchdowns
  • 7 touchdowns on special teams and defense

Championship Performance

In the thrilling Class AAA final against Nitro, Mossor played a pivotal role. He scored all five touchdowns for Princeton in a 36-35 victory, tallying a total of 34 points. Notably, he accomplished a remarkable feat with three touchdowns in the fourth quarter, showcasing his ability to perform under pressure.

Mossor expressed gratitude to his teammates, particularly the offensive line, for their support throughout the season. “I want to shout out my offensive line, because if it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t have done what I did,” he said.

  • 221 scrimmage yards and three touchdowns in the semifinals against Spring Valley
  • 244 scrimmage yards with five touchdowns in a quarterfinal win over Herbert Hoover

Coach Tanner praised Mossor’s competitive spirit and work ethic. “His will to win is unreal,” Tanner stated. Looking ahead, Mossor is determined to continue his football career at the collegiate level. He has received offers from several Division II programs and recently earned his first Division I offer from Morgan State University. Meanwhile, he is set to transition to basketball, motivated by his family’s legacy in sports.
