Masked Border Patrol Agent Pursues Woman to Her Louisiana Home in Video

In a recent incident captured on video, two masked immigration agents pursued a woman to her home in Marrero, Louisiana. This event occurred during what the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has labeled a “targeted immigration enforcement operation.”

Details of the Incident

Jacelynn Guzman, a 23-year-old U.S. citizen, was walking home from a corner store on Thursday when the encounter took place. She reported that a silver, unmarked SUV stopped beside her, and two masked agents emerged from the vehicle. Initially, she thought the car was an Uber.

Guzman recounted her panic as the agents called out to her, saying, “Wait, don’t run, Ma’am.” Hearing this, she ran toward her home, repeatedly asserting her citizenship. “I’m a U.S.-born citizen. I was born and raised here,” she exclaimed.

As she fled, another SUV arrived, with one of the agents attempting to cut her off. Guzman described feeling as if the agents believed she might continue running. She later shared video footage of the incident provided by her mother, Ramona Anglin, which shows the agents tailing her in pursuit.

Security Footage Insights

  • The video begins with an SUV pulling up alongside Guzman.
  • Two masked agents can be seen engaging in the chase.
  • Guzman screams, “Leave me alone,” before entering her home.
  • Agents halt their pursuit at the property line.

Moments later, Guzman’s stepfather confronted the agents from within their property, yelling for them to leave. Shortly after, the agents departed in their vehicles.

DHS Response

The DHS later released a statement regarding the operation, clarifying that U.S. Border Patrol was conducting a targeted enforcement action against an individual wanted for felony theft. The agents encountered Guzman, who matched the description of the suspect. However, upon reaching her property, they determined she was not the target and left the scene without making any arrests.

A DHS spokesperson did not provide an immediate follow-up comment on the incident.

Guzman’s Reflection

After the ordeal, Guzman reflected on her experience, stating that she felt a mix of panic and concern for her child waiting at home. She acknowledged the heightened awareness surrounding federal immigration actions and urged others to remain vigilant. “I know it’s hard to be strong in such difficult times, but just be safe, watch over your family,” she advised.

Context of the Operation

The incident in Marrero coincided with recent immigration enforcement operations launched by the Trump administration in both New Orleans and Minneapolis. Additionally, President Trump announced plans to deploy National Guard troops to Louisiana.
