While discussing the growth of soccer in the United States, Trump noted the confusion between the two sports. He stated, “It really doesn’t make sense when you think about it.” His remarks emphasized the need for a distinct name for American football, which is often associated with the NFL.

During the same event, Trump received the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize. FIFA President Gianni Infantino presented the award, which included a golden hands trophy holding a soccer ball and a medal, which Trump donned promptly.
