FCPS Implements NTI Days This Winter, Officials Confirm

Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) has announced the implementation of non-traditional instruction (NTI) days for the 2025-2026 school year. This decision was confirmed through an official press release from FCPS.

Details of NTI Days Implementation

Initially, FCPS officials indicated during a school board meeting earlier this year that NTI days would not be used. However, after further discussions involving department leaders in Child Nutrition and the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council, the district has opted to reconsider this plan.

Coexistence of NTI and Snow Days

Moving forward, FCPS will utilize both NTI days and traditional snow days when necessary. This dual approach aims to enhance educational access during periods of inclement weather or emergency situations.

Communication with Families

FCPS assures families that they will receive additional information directly from their schools. Principals and teachers will provide specific details regarding the NTI days, ensuring that all parents and students are well-informed.

NTI Webpages Updates

Schools within the district will update their NTI webpages. This will facilitate easy access to relevant information about instruction and resources available during NTI days.

  • Implementation Year: 2025-2026
  • Instruction Type: Non-traditional instruction (NTI) and snow days
  • Initial Stance: NTI days not to be used
  • Current Decision: Reconsidered after discussions with stakeholders

This change aims to ensure that educational opportunities continue uninterrupted, regardless of weather conditions. FCPS is committed to maintaining effective communication with families to support student learning and success.
