The Blood Brothers band was established in 2002 by guitarists Mike Zito and Albert Castiglia. The group’s connection to Murray began when his brother, John, booked them for the annual Murray Brothers’ Caddyshack Golf Tournament. This event is inspired by Murray’s classic 1980 film, Caddyshack.

During the tournament, Murray made an unexpected appearance on stage. The moment unfolded when the band performed a song by the Rascals, one of Murray’s favorite bands. This impromptu performance sparked his involvement with the band, leading to his full membership.

On December 3, 2025, Bill Murray and the Blood Brothers will perform during the NBC special, Christmas in Nashville. This holiday-themed program will air at 10 p.m. ET/PT, following the Christmas in Rockefeller Center event.

In addition to Murray’s performance, the show will feature an impressive lineup of musical guests, including:
