Breeze Cancels Redmond-Burbank Flights Months Before Launch

Breeze Airways has decided to cancel the anticipated flights between Redmond, Oregon, and Burbank, California, before their launch. This decision comes as a surprise, as the airline had previously announced its plans to operate this route. However, the service will still be available through Alaska Airlines, which has been operating flights between the two airports since October.
Breeze Airways Adjusts Flight Schedule
In an email communication, Breeze Airways expressed regret about the cancellation of the Redmond-Burbank service. They emphasized that the adjustments were necessary to optimize their resources. Jodi Low, a representative from Redmond Airport, confirmed that Breeze had initially planned to introduce this route along with others.
Alternate Travel Options
The cancellation of the Redmond-Burbank route does not affect Breeze’s other upcoming flights. The airline is still set to launch flights between Redmond and Las Vegas starting in mid-March 2026.
- Breeze Airways originally announced flights in August.
- Service will transition to Alaska Airlines as of October 26, 2025.
- Alaska Airlines provides daily routes to Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Portland.
Flight History and Future Plans
Breeze’s decision follows Avelo Airlines withdrawing from many routes, including their flights from Redmond. As a newcomer in the aviation industry, Breeze Airways started operations in 2021 and currently offers approximately 170 seasonal and year-round routes across 60 cities.
The recent changes highlight the dynamic nature of flight scheduling and the competitive landscape of the airline industry. Travelers looking for direct access between Central Oregon and California can rely on Alaska Airlines’ established service. This ensures that options remain for passengers wishing to travel to the Burbank area.
