Over 100 Premier League Fan Groups Demand Freeze on Ticket Price Hikes

Supporter groups from all 20 Premier League clubs have united in their demand for a freeze on ticket price increases. Their letter calls for a two-year pause under the slogan “Protect the Fans. Protect the Game.” A total of 116 organizations and Fan Advisory Boards signed this appeal, aiming to curb price hikes that have become pervasive in recent seasons.

Recent Ticket Price Increases

In the 2024/25 season, 19 Premier League clubs raised their ticket prices. Currently, 13 out of the 20 clubs have done the same this season, prompting concern among fans.

Goals of the Initiative

  • Implement a two-season freeze on home ticket price increases for 2026/27 and 2027/28.
  • Provide fans with transparent ticketing data—including prices, sales, and policies.
  • Encourage ongoing discussions with Fan Advisory Boards on future ticket pricing strategies.

Call for Transparency and Dialogue

Supporter representatives have expressed frustration over the lack of transparency in ticketing. They argue that proper discussions with fans are essential, yet currently do not take place. The initiative hopes to foster communication between clubs and their supporters.

FSA’s Position

The Football Supporters’ Association (FSA) has stated its intent to collaborate with Premier League clubs to create structured dialogues on ticketing. They emphasize the urgent need for addressing pricing concerns, asserting that clubs must listen to their supporters. The FSA insists football needs to remain affordable for all fans.

This unified effort underscores a critical moment for Premier League clubs. Fans are asserting their right to fair pricing and transparent practices, highlighting the necessity for clubs to engage with their supporters proactively.
