Las Vegas Faces Rain Showers, Mountain Snow During F1 Weekend

Las Vegas is currently experiencing light to moderate rain, alongside mountain snowfall, as the F1 weekend unfolds.

Weather Forecast for Southern Nevada

This Friday starts with rain showers in the region. Temperatures are expected to peak around 56 degrees Fahrenheit, slightly below the seasonal average of 64 degrees. The morning rain may continue into the afternoon, with additional snowfall anticipated in the Spring Mountains.

Conditions and Temperatures

  • High Temperature: 56°F
  • Normal High: 64°F
  • Low Tonight: 49°F
  • Winds: Northeast at 10 mph, increasing to 5-15 mph overnight
  • Air Quality: Good

Cloudy skies will persist into the evening, with a minor chance of showers lingering overnight. The rain and snow activity is expected to subside by Saturday afternoon as the storm system shifts eastward.

Rainfall and Snow Accumulation

Since the start of this unsettled weather, Las Vegas has recorded 1.58 inches of rain in November. This amount is nearly 40% of the annual rainfall average of 4.18 inches. The region has also seen additional snowfall in the Spring Mountains, contributing to winter conditions.

Potential Flooding Risk

While the rain is generally welcomed, it poses a risk of minor flooding in low-lying areas where soil saturation has occurred due to previous rainfall.

Looking Ahead

As the storm departs, high pressure is set to dominate the weather. Temperatures are forecasted to improve, reaching the mid-60s by Sunday. Stable weather conditions are expected to persist through most of next week.

Looking ahead to Thanksgiving, the forecast hints at partly cloudy skies with highs around 66 degrees. However, indications suggest another round of active weather may arrive next weekend.
