Bournemouth’s Semenyo Uncertain for West Ham, Boss Iraola Unconcerned

Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo faces uncertainty regarding his participation in the upcoming match against West Ham United.
Semenyo’s Injury Update
The Ghanaian international, aged 25, has returned to Bournemouth from national team duties due to an aggravated left ankle injury. This issue arose during the 2-0 defeat to Japan, as confirmed earlier this week.
Head coach Andoni Iraola discussed the situation at a pre-match press conference, stating, “(Semenyo) was already dealing with an ankle injury before the international break. I cannot tell you if he’s going to play tomorrow or not. We will have to see.”
Availability of Teammates
In contrast, midfielder Tyler Adams is set to feature in the match. He has passed concussion protocols following a collision in a game against Aston Villa last month.
- Tyler Adams: Available after concussion protocols.
- Adam Smith: Also passed concussion protocols.
Iraola mentioned, “They are available for the game, but it’s true that in these two weeks, they have had to go through the process of concussion, which is quite meticulous.”
Transfer Speculation Surrounding Semenyo
Recent reports reveal that Bournemouth may struggle to retain Semenyo beyond January. The club faces a potential release clause of £65 million, which could be triggered during the winter transfer window.
Iraola expressed a desire to keep Semenyo for the remainder of the season, stating, “We are in November, Antoine is our player, he will continue to be our player. In January, you can ask me about the market.”
Bournemouth’s Current Standing
As of now, Bournemouth sits ninth in the Premier League, just one point shy of the top four. They will host 18th-place West Ham on Saturday, aiming to secure a vital three points in their quest for a strong finish this season.
