George Clooney Invited to Join HBO Max’s ‘The Pitt’

George Clooney recently expressed enthusiasm about potentially joining HBO Max’s series, The Pitt. His past collaboration with Noah Wyle on the acclaimed NBC medical drama ER has sparked interest in a reunion.

Clooney indicated that he would join the cast of The Pitt “in a heartbeat.” His comments came amidst the anticipation surrounding the show’s second season, which is set to premiere in January.
Executive Remarks on a Possible Reunion
Casey Bloys, the head of HBO, commented on Clooney’s remarks during a press presentation in New York. While he acknowledged seeing Clooney’s interest, Bloys noted that he was uncertain about any formal invitations being extended. “Sure, he’s welcome,” he stated. “I don’t know if that was a real conversation or not, but sure.”
Clooney’s Sentiments on Friendship
During a promotion for his Netflix film, Jay Kelly, Clooney shared his admiration for Wyle and his work on The Pitt. He emphasized that he had not directly discussed the possibility of appearing on the series with Wyle. “It is his show. I don’t want to interrupt,” Clooney explained. “But I am deeply proud of him, if I’m allowed to be proud of him.”
Praising The Pitt and Wyle’s Accomplishments
Clooney has continually praised The Pitt, which boasts a total of 15 episodes. The series was created by R. Scott Gemmill and produced by both Wyle and John Wells, another executive producer from ER.
In a previous interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Clooney referenced his strong friendship with Wyle. “He is just the most honorable, talented young man. I can’t be happier for his success on the show,” he said. Clooney has consistently highlighted The Pitt as a “beautiful show” that showcases Wyle’s talent effectively.
