Curry Sidelined: Warriors’ Star Misses Heat Game Due to Ankle Soreness

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry will not play in the upcoming game against the Miami Heat due to ankle soreness. This decision comes as Curry’s health remains a concern after he injured his right ankle during a strong performance in San Antonio. This marks another setback for Curry, who had previously tweaked the same ankle during the first half of a game in Orlando.
Curry’s Injury Timeline
Curry first injured his ankle last Friday night, where he scored 49 points in San Antonio. He aggravated the injury again on Tuesday in Orlando. Following the game, Curry expressed hope that travel and rest would improve his condition.
Missing Players for the Warriors
Alongside Curry, two key players will also be absent from the game against the Heat:
- Jimmy Butler: Experiencing lower back soreness, which previously caused him to miss a game in Sacramento.
- Draymond Green: Unable to play due to illness.
Reserve guard Buddy Hield’s condition has improved, and he is now available for the game after being listed as questionable. On the other hand, veteran center Al Horford is sitting out as part of load management after a back-to-back game. Additionally, Jonathan Kuminga remains sidelined with knee tendinitis.
Warriors’ Challenging Schedule
The Warriors have faced a demanding schedule in the opening month of the season. This game marks the conclusion of an arduous road trip:
- Played a league-high 17 games in 29 days.
- Competed across 12 different cities.
- Endured five back-to-back games.
Following the Miami game, the Warriors will return to San Francisco for a five-game homestand, which provides an opportunity for much-needed rest and recovery.
