Residents of Martinique are currently on yellow alert due to forecasts of heavy rain and thunderstorms. A weak southeasterly trade wind is steering a mass of moist and unstable air into the region.

Starting this evening, dense cloud formations are expected to move in from the south of the Antillean arc. Initial precipitation will be moderate yet scattered. However, conditions are predicted to worsen overnight, leading to more significant and localized thunderstorms.

- Frequent, intense rain showers are anticipated on Sunday.
- Wind gusts between 60 to 70 km/h may accompany these showers.

Projected rainfall accumulations include:
- 30 to 50 mm from tonight through tomorrow morning.
