ECI Deploys Record CAPF Forces for Tarn Taran Bye-Elections

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced significant security measures for the upcoming bye-election in the Tarn Taran district. This election is set for November 11, scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The ECI aims to ensure a secure voting environment in this border-sensitive area.

Record CAPF Deployment for Tarn Taran Bye-Elections

This bye-election will witness one of the largest deployments of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) in ECI history. According to Sibin C, Punjab’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), a total of 12 CAPF companies will be stationed in the Tarn Taran Assembly Constituency.

Security Measures and Monitoring

  • The bye-election will cover 114 polling station locations.
  • A total of 222 polling stations will be secured by CAPF personnel.
  • All polling stations will be equipped with CCTV cameras and webcasting facilities.
  • Monitoring will occur at various levels, including the Returning Officer (RO), District Election Officer (DEO), and CEO.

Additionally, 46 Micro Observers will be assigned to oversee critical polling station locations. These comprehensive security arrangements reflect the ECI’s commitment to conducting a fair election.

Compliance and Voter Participation

The CEO warned that any breaches of election regulations will be addressed rigorously. He encouraged voters in the Tarn Taran Assembly Constituency to participate actively and cast their votes without fear on November 11, 2025.

With these meticulous preparations, the ECI aims to ensure a peaceful electoral process in Tarn Taran.
