Masayoshi Takanaka Embarks on First Global Tour, Boosting City Pop Waves

Masayoshi Takanaka, the iconic Japanese guitarist, is set to embark on his inaugural global tour, titled Super Takanaka World Live 2026. This tour follows the sell-out success of his earlier performances in Los Angeles. Takanaka is renowned for his vibrant City Pop sound, which combines surf rock and pop elements.

The tour kicks off on March 31, 2026, in London. Performances will occur in several key cities across the UK and the U.S., including:

- Brooklyn, NY – April 4 @ Brooklyn Paramount
- Chicago, IL – April 7 @ Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom

Special Features of the Tour
One of the standout features of the Super Takanaka World Live 2026 tour is the return of Takanaka’s unique surfboard guitar. Originally designed over 15 years ago and restored for this tour, this instrument will be showcased on stage for the first time since its initial display.
