Iconic XI Ambassador Program Overview
The Iconic XI is a distinguished group consisting of 11 remarkable Canadian figures known for their influence across various cultural sectors. The program aims to engage the public and encourage a national spirit of unity and pride as Canada prepares for one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events.
First Members Announced
- Sidney Crosby: Renowned as one of hockey’s greatest players, Crosby has been the captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins since 2007 and boasts three Stanley Cup wins. He also holds multiple Hart and Art Ross trophies, along with Olympic gold medals from 2010 and 2014.
- Simu Liu: This actor and producer gained global recognition through his lead role in Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” Liu has also made it onto the TIME 100 list for his impact in film and culture.
- Shawn Mendes: The acclaimed singer-songwriter has earned three GRAMMY nominations and six Juno Awards. Mendes has released five successful studio albums and wrapped up his 2025 tour, “On The Road Again,” amassing over 62 billion global song streams in his career.
