UNC Guard Trimble Suffers Arm Injury, Out Indefinitely

Seth Trimble, a guard for the University of North Carolina, faces an indefinite absence from the team due to a broken bone in his left forearm. The injury occurred during a team workout on Sunday, prompting the university to announce that he will undergo surgery this week.
Impact of Trimble’s Injury on the Tar Heels
Coach Hubert Davis expressed his support for Trimble, emphasizing the player’s dedication and leadership qualities. “So sad for Seth,” he stated. “He’s such a great kid and teammate, and has worked so hard for his senior year. The good news is he will be back at some point this year.”
Trimble, who stands at 6 feet 3 inches tall, has been a vital part of the Tar Heels’ lineup. This season marked his full-time starting role after participating in 102 games over the past three seasons. Notably, he played a significant role in North Carolina’s recent victory against Kansas, contributing 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Performance Highlights
- 2024-25 season: Averaged 11.6 points and 5.0 rebounds.
- Played 18 games as a starter last season.
- Injury sustained during Sunday workout.
With Trimble sidelined, the Tar Heels may rely more heavily on Montenegrin guard Luka Bogavac, who recently returned to action. Bogavac was only cleared to participate last Monday but has proved to be a key bench player in the initial games of the season.
Additionally, Jonathan Powell, a transfer from West Virginia, is expected to take on an expanded role as the team navigates this challenging situation.
Upcoming Games
North Carolina is set to host Radford on Tuesday at 7 p.m. on the ACC Network, where they will aim to maintain their momentum despite the loss of Trimble.
