NCAA Reveals 2025 DI Women’s Soccer Championship Selections

On November 10, 2025, the NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championship will officially commence, showcasing a competitive field of 64 teams. This year marks the 44th edition of the prestigious tournament.

2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championship Overview

The NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Committee has announced the tournament selections. A total of 30 conferences were awarded automatic bids, while 34 teams received at-large selections. The top 32 teams have been seeded, ensuring that teams from the same conference do not face one another in the initial rounds.

Notable Teams and Historical Context

For the first time, the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) and Wagner College will participate in the tournament. Sacred Heart will also return, marking its first appearance since 2001. Overall, the tournament features six teams with a combined total of 37 national championships, highlighting the level of competition.

Championship Schedule

The tournament is structured as follows:

  • First Round: November 14-16
  • Second and Third Rounds: November 20 and 23
  • Quarterfinals: November 28 or 29

The NCAA Women’s College Cup is set for December 5 and 8, 2025. This year, the event will take place at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, with the University of Kansas and Kansas City Sports Commission as hosts.

Broadcasting Details

The first national semifinal will be aired live on ESPNU at 6 p.m. EST on December 5, followed by the second semifinal at approximately 8:45 p.m. EST. The championship match will take place on December 8 at 7 p.m. EST, also broadcasted live on ESPNU.
