Protesters Block Jacques-Cartier Bridge Entrance

A bike protest in support of Palestine took place Saturday afternoon, culminating in a blockade at the Jacques-Cartier Bridge. Around 100 participants gathered, effectively blocking access for approximately 30 minutes.
Protest Details
Shortly before 3:30 PM, authorities closed the Jacques-Cartier Bridge heading south as a precautionary measure, according to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM). The bridge was reopened about half an hour later, allowing traffic to resume normally.
Police Response
SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant reported, “The protesters continue to march through the streets of Montreal. Everything is going smoothly with no incidents.”
Event Origins and Goals
The cyclists began their ride at the foot of Mount Royal around 1 PM. The event was organized by the groups Bikers4Palestine, MtlAntiApartheid, and Désinvestir pour la Palestine.
