City of Oaks Marathon to Close Several Raleigh Streets

Raleigh’s City of Oaks Marathon is set to impact traffic this Sunday morning. A number of main roads will close as the event unfolds. This includes significant sections of Hillsborough Street, Morgan Street, Glenwood Avenue, and Western Boulevard.
Road Closures for the City of Oaks Marathon
The marathon will cause extensive closures beginning early Sunday. Here are the details:
- Most of Hillsborough Street will close from the State Capitol to the I-440 North on-ramp.
- Glenwood Avenue will be closed from Peace Street to Hillsborough Street starting at 3 a.m. and will reopen at 1 p.m.
- Closures will generally remain in effect until around 9:45 a.m.
The race commences at 7 a.m. at the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and North Street. Participants will cover a distance of 26.2 miles through various parts of the city.

- NC State University
- Boylan Heights
- Crabtree Valley
