Intentional Explosion Suspected Inside Harvard Medical School Building, Police Report

Early Saturday morning, an explosion occurred inside the Goldenson Building at Harvard Medical School in Boston. Authorities suspect that this incident was intentional. The Harvard University Police Department reported that police were dispatched to the location just before 3 a.m. due to a fire alarm activation.

Upon arrival, an officer observed two individuals fleeing from the building. Despite attempts to stop them, the officer was unable to identify the suspects. The officer proceeded to the fourth floor, where the explosion had taken place and confirmed that an explosion had indeed occurred.

Response from Law Enforcement

The Boston Fire Department’s Arson Unit arrived shortly after to investigate. Initial assessments suggest that the explosion was not accidental. Subsequently, the Boston Police Department conducted a sweep of the building for any additional explosive devices, but no further devices were found.

The FBI has also responded to the scene, providing support to local law enforcement. A spokesperson indicated that they would not provide further comments at this stage, directing inquiries to the Harvard University Police Department.

Current Status

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported as a result of the explosion. The Harvard University Police Department, in collaboration with local and federal law enforcement agencies, is currently conducting an investigation.
