Jaqueline Amorim Faces Mizuki Inoue in Key UFC 321 Strawweight Test

Former LFA strawweight champion Jaqueline Amorim is poised for a significant challenge as she prepares to face ex-DEEP titleholder Mizuki Inoue at UFC 321. This highly anticipated event is scheduled for Saturday in Abu Dhabi. While Amorim is not rushing to secure another title, she welcomes the opportunity to face tougher opponents in the octagon.

Amorim’s Journey Since Joining the UFC

Since her UFC debut loss to Sam Hughes in April 2023, Amorim has rebounded impressively. She has recorded four consecutive finishes against notable opponents including:

  • Monsserrat Conejo
  • Cory McKenna
  • Vanessa Demopoulos
  • Polyana Viana

Amorim views her fight with Inoue as a crucial step before targeting a ranking within the UFC. “I joined the organization with just six fights,” Amorim stated. “This is a solid matchup before I take on ranked fighters due to my opponent’s experience.”

The Significance of UFC 321

UFC 321 features a pivotal rematch between Virna Jandiroba and Mackenzie Dern for the vacant 115-pound title. Amorim expressed excitement about witnessing two elite grapplers competing for the championship. She remarked on the skill levels of both fighters, stating that each has shown significant evolution in their techniques.

Predictions on the Title Fight

Amorim believes that Jandiroba may hold an edge in the title bout. “If I had to bet, I’d put my money on Virna,” she shared. “But I appreciate both fighters and will support whoever wins.”

Returning to Abu Dhabi

Amorim is no stranger to Abu Dhabi, having previously won the UAEJJF Abu Dhabi World Pro title in 2014 as a purple belt. Reflecting on her journey, she said, “Coming back to fight in the UFC is rewarding. The first time I came here was in 2011, as a blue belt. This opportunity feels like a dream fulfilled.”

Facing Mizuki Inoue

Mizuki Inoue represents a formidable challenge. With a robust grappling background and an impressive fight record, she has never been submitted in her MMA career. Amorim acknowledges the experience Inoue brings to the octagon but remains focused on her goal. “I plan on making her tap out,” Amorim stated confidently. “I aim to showcase my jiu-jitsu each time I step into the octagon.”

Despite Mizuki’s long absence from the sport, Amorim believes their styles complement each other, making for an exciting matchup. “She’s good both standing and on the ground,” Amorim added. “This will be a tougher test than my recent fights, and I’m ready for anything she brings.”
