Widdrington Named First Team Manager

Eastbourne Borough Football Club has announced the appointment of Tommy Widdrington as the new First Team Manager. Widdrington, 54, returns to Priory Lane on a long-term contract after previously managing the club from February 2012 to April 2017.

Tommy Widdrington’s Management History

During his first tenure, Widdrington oversaw nearly 250 matches. His extensive experience makes him a valuable asset for Eastbourne Borough. Previous roles include caretaker positions at Bristol Rovers and a leadership role at King’s Lynn Town.

  • King’s Lynn Town: Joined in December 2021 and led the team to a second-place finish in the National League North by April 2023.
  • Aldershot Town: Took charge and preserved the team’s National League status during his first year. In the 2023/24 season, his team narrowly missed playoff qualification, finishing just two points short.
  • FA Trophy Win: Widdrington led Aldershot to Wembley for the first time, winning the FA Trophy with a 3-0 victory against Spennymoor Town.
