Senators’ Tkachuk Out for a Month Due to Hand Injury

Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk will be sidelined for at least a month due to a hand injury. This news was confirmed by head coach Travis Green on Tuesday.

Tkachuk’s Injury Details

Tkachuk injured his right hand during a game against the Nashville Predators on Monday. The injury occurred early in the first period when he was cross-checked by defenseman Roman Josi, causing him to crash awkwardly into the boards.

Expected Recovery Time

The 26-year-old winger managed to play through the injury initially but left the game during the final half of the third period. Coach Green indicated that surgery is a possibility but confirmed that Tkachuk will definitely miss a minimum of four weeks. He stated, “He’s going to miss a significant amount of time,” adding that further details would become available within the next 24 hours.

Tkachuk’s Season Performance

So far this season, Tkachuk has recorded three assists in three games. He was drafted fourth overall by the Ottawa Senators in 2018 and has been a key player for the team.

Impact on Team Roster

In addition to Tkachuk, his brother Matthew, a Stanley Cup champion with the Florida Panthers, is also currently sidelined with an injury. The Senators anticipate that Matthew will be out until December.

  • Injury Date: October 14, 2025
  • Injury Type: Right hand injury
  • Minimum Recovery Time: Four weeks
  • Season Performance: 3 assists in 3 games
  • Olympics: Both brothers named to the initial 2026 Olympics roster

The Senators will need to adjust their lineup as they face a critical stretch in the upcoming games without two of their star players. Updates on Tkachuk’s condition will be closely monitored by fans and analysts alike.
