Manchester Half Marathon: Route Details and Road Closures

The Manchester Half Marathon will occur on Sunday, October 12, 2024. This popular event is expected to attract over 28,000 participants. Route Details for the Manchester Half Marathon

Runners will start just past the White City Arch, following a course that loops around Wharfside and passes the iconic Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium. The route continues south along the A56, eventually circling back through Sale before concluding near the Lancashire Cricket Club.

To ensure the safety of participants and spectators, several road closures will be implemented on the day of the marathon. The first closure will start at 6:30 AM, and the closures will remain in effect until 5:00 PM. - Chorlton Road: 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM between Royce Road and Deansgate Interchange
- A57(M) Eastbound off-slip: 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM
- A57(M) Westbound off-slip: 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM
- Chester Road: 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM between Deansgate Interchange and Deansgate (Whitworth St)
- Great Jackson Street: 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM between Chester Road and Silvercroft Street
- Deansgate: 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM between Deansgate and Owen Street
- Deansgate: 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM between Chester Road and Whitworth Street West
