Google Reduces AI Plus Price, Doubles Storage Capacity

Google has announced a significant shift in pricing and features for its AI Plus subscription plan. Effective immediately, the monthly fee has been reduced to $5, which is a decrease from the previous $8. This adjustment aims to make access to the Gemini models more affordable for users.
Subscription Details and Improvements
The updated Google AI Plus plan now includes enhanced benefits alongside a lower price. Subscribers will enjoy:
- Increased storage capacity: 400GB instead of 200GB.
- Access to Google’s Gemini 3 Pro model, Nano Banana Pro, and Deep Research.
- AI-powered email tools to streamline communication.
- A Daily Brief agent that summarizes daily schedules in the Gemini app.
- Access to Gemini Omni, a new model for generating videos from any input.
Availability and Future Access
This subscription plan has been available since January 2026. It was created to offer a more economical means to use advanced AI features that previously required purchasing the higher-tier AI Pro plan. Despite the reduced price, the new plan imposes stricter usage limits, making it suitable for those who need reliable, basic functionality.
Consumers can sign up for the AI Plus plan now on Google’s website. Current subscribers can expect to see the extra storage implemented in their accounts shortly, along with the new pricing reflected on their next billing statement.
With these changes, Google aims to increase user engagement by providing valuable tools while maintaining an affordable price point for aspiring creators and productivity-driven individuals.
