Dead Astronauts, a gaming studio located in Sweden, has announced its debut title, Haex. This co-op survival first-person shooter (FPS) is set against the backdrop of the Nordic wilderness. Players will not only battle the elements but also alien creatures that inhabit this rugged landscape.
Haex Overview
The game was unveiled during the Summer Game Fest 2026. Players can team up with up to three friends to explore the treacherous sub-arctic environment. Their main mission is to investigate the mysterious appearance of a massive monolith and uncover the fate of their missing expedition crew.
Gameplay Features

Tobias Nyman, co-founder and creative director at Dead Astronauts, explains, “With Haex, our ambition is to create an innovative, memorable open-world action adventure survival game.” He emphasizes that the goal is to build a universe that players can explore and reshape as they see fit.
Progression System
Haex introduces a system that allows players to carry over progress between gaming sessions. Resources and gear collected in one session are transferable to another. However, characters and worlds will maintain their separate narratives, preserving individual storylines for each game session.
Development Status
Currently, Haex is in development for PC and aims to be available on platforms such as Steam and the Epic Games Store. While there is no confirmed release date, excitement is building within the gaming community for this unique title.
